ID: 73599023 Shift: 8H Days M-F 8 hour shifts. Rotating start times. Earliest shift 0700 latest shift 0900 Description: Unit : Oncology | Chemo Infusion- Unit: Chemo Infusion Magic Valley- beds/rooms: 23 chairs, 1 bed, 1 isolation room.- Average of providers in the clinic/day: Medical Oncology team is onsite. 3 full time Medical Oncologists, 3 APPs for Medical Onc. 2 full time Radiation Oncologist. APPs respond to any needs if patient has not been seen by provider in clinic that day along with any infusion reactions.- Average of patients/day: 8-10 patient encounters per nurse per day with 4-6 individual patients per day. Staff 1 patient free charge and 7 RNs per day will only staff 6 if volumes are low.- Required Certifications: BLS, ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Provider Card, OCN cert would be a plus.- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Oncology and Hematology. General oncology clinic- providers do not that specialize due to being a community based cancer institute. Do not do transplants or Peds- may occasionally see peds for a lab draw or hydration.- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must be proficient with IV starts, Central Lines, accessing ports, assessments, and chemotherapy admin. Must know how to provide patient education. Prefer prior Infusion clinic experience. Would accept someone with 1 year of infusion clinic experience and 1 year of oncology experience. Would accept someone with 1-2 years, 2 years preferred of inpatient oncology experience. Okay with first time travelers if they have 3 years of prior experience.- Job Duties: Assessments, vascular access, administer chemo, lab draws, help maintain the area- cleaning workstation, wiping down chairs and pumps if pts are waiting and CNA unavailable. Will also review patient schedules to make sure plan is clear.- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: IVIG, Rituxan- Is there a Manager/Supervisor on each shift: Charge RN, does not take assignments unless there is an unexpected need/add ons that cannot be taken by others.- Do you use Medical Assistants or CNA's: Yes, CNA and CMA in infusion area core staffing is 2 to 3 based on volumes.- EMR: EPIC- Shifts & Scheduling: M-F 8 hour shifts. Rotating start times. Earliest shift 0700 latest shift 0900 (stays with late patients if needed).- Weekend Requirement: No- Holiday Requirement: Closed for St. Luke s recognized Holidays- Is there a call or standby requirement: No- Floating Requirements: Yes- within the clinic- triage if they have extensive oncology experience- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue, no nail polish, closed toe shoes.- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1st day will be going over hospital policy/hospital system ~4 hours and then will meet with manager for a tour and possibly shadow 2nd and 3rd day are EPIC training ~6 hours/day will come back to clinic for remainder of days. Will then get 3-5 days of department orientation.- Additional Notes: Medical Oncology, Radiation, and Infusion all in one area. Travelers always have great things to say about the team and some have come on as perm staff. Very close knit group, continually growing and onboarding new staff and travelers. Will not give anyone work that they aren't willing to do themselves. Hospital is attached so have access to RT and Rapid Response/Code team if needed.This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles.
